Create a "shop" with items present that your child loves. They can be inexpensive items like stickers, cars, dolls, some items for a hobby he/she loves, etc., then "price" them according to how many merit points he/she needs to "buy" this item from this "merit shop", and then start issuing merits to your child/ren fairly in order for the to "save up" enough merits to buy this item.

Merits can be given for neat work, diligent work, a certain percentage for Checkups, Self Tests, PACE tests, well displayed character, a certain amount of subjects completed before break, Scripture memory, etc.

Ilove this idea of the shop. Is there anybody who can suggest some merit points for the above items, just so that I can get an idea of a reasonable amount.( i dont want it to be too easy to obtain but neither to difficult.) Secondly, how do you issue the merits? Is it 1 merit per task performed or can it vary? Thanks
